Darkness. Such an amazing, mystical place. A place that cannot exist without light. A place of Creation. Birth. Death. A place where seeds are sown. Where roots take hold. Transformation. Where sight (night vision), hearing/listening, taste, smell and touch are heightened because your survival (and sanity) depends upon it. A place where our internal GPS also known as intuition kicks in to guide and assist on the journey into the darkness, our darkness.
Since becoming an Entheogenic Woman beginning in July 2014, I purposefully, with intentions, have self-initiated myself to being a navigator of the “underworld”. As a Light Worker I often travel to this place to gain tools, knowledge, wisdom, clarity, gifts and ideas, overstanding. Not only for myself, but for the collective. This work has assisted me greatly in my relationships with self, family, my clients, my community and the earth as a whole. I have also cultivated, prepared sacred space, and sat at the gates for others to do the same. This darkness and the navigation thereof has proven itself to be place of healing, divine restoration and breakthrough(s) on so many levels. It has allowed me to truly appreciate the light. As well as recognize that sometimes, some things can be blinded or hidden by the light. It’s when we close our eyes, breathe, become vulnerable by the unknown and face our fears that we practice the skill of being grounded and centered. We become more aware of our presence, our environment, conditions, addictions, and cycles that we often repeat. And when we reopen our eyes, we do so from a place of humility, balance, power and unconditional love. Fearlessness!
During this Winter Solstice, a time where the veil is thin between this world and those that exist around us. A time where we experience the longest days of darkness and the shortest days of light. I encourage you to dive deep within yourself, into your darkness (with or without the use of entheogens). Just as this Earth is doing right now. Step into your full, authentic self. Get to know those parts of you that you have been taught to fear. Face the pain. Face the trauma. Don’t keep hiding it in your spiritual closet. Some of us can see it anyways. Once you begin to embrace the darkness, the darkness that makes up the totality of you, when the darkness falls upon you, you won’t trip over things as much, you won’t bump your head so much. Panic will not be your first instinct. You’ll learn to breathe, take your time, exercise and discover skills and talents that you never knew existed inside of you. You’ll get the messages, the downloads. You’ll see the moral to your stories. You’ll become more aware of illusions, the ones we create and the illusions bestowed upon us. You’ll gain a greater appreciation for the darkness and all it represents. In doing so you can return to the true essence of You. The You that consists of equal parts darkness and light. Happy Winter Solstice Blessings!
