Since a teenager, I have always had a “thing” for bathing and being near bodies of water. Water has always been a source of Peace and Relaxation. One of the many places on this Earth that I commune with God(dess) which is a Divine reflection of Me. I am Water. Being a Piscean woman, born on the cusp with Aquarius, I can honestly say that I represent all things water. Nurturing, nourishing, spiritual, refreshing, free, flowing, vast, powerful, and deep (be careful, don’t drown). Abundant!. It is through water (and blood) that a Mother is able to embrace her newborn child from the spirit realm into this earthly realm.
As a 35 year old Goddess, Mother and Healer, I bathe RITUALLY. At least 2-3 times per week. I’ve found water to be a source of healing and divine restoration. Divination. And that it brings forth clarity, cleansing, wisdom and rebirth. Innerstanding. Along my journey I have also acquired the knowledge of herbs, crystals, flowers, and oils. As well as the ritual use of water from my ancestors, medicine women and foremothers that have come before me and communicate with me through water and my Blood. I bathe before births. I bathe before cultivating sacred plant medicine. I bathe during my sacred blood cycles and various phases of the Moon. I bathe before and sometimes during spiritual work. I bathe for grief and clarity during life’s many cycles and transitions. I bathe during Equinoxes and Solstices to be in alignment with the Earth and the Cosmos. I bathe for self love. I bathe whenever Spirit guides me to bathe.
With the knowledge and wisdom that I’ve obtained intuitively from my ancestors, from Elders and my Sisters and independent studies, bathing has become a very Powerful tool in my life. Anyone who knows me, knows my two favorite questions are, “Are you drinking enough water” and “when was the last time you took a bath”? Because both are truly important to our physical, mental and spiritual well being. It is of utmost importance that we cleanse away any and everything thing that diminishes our LIGHT. I highly recommend spiritual bathing to my clients prior to receiving massage therapy, ear candling or other bodywork.
Now, the difference in regular bathing and spiritual bathing is that one is used for basic washing/hygiene and the other is used with more purpose and intention and used to assist in achieving a specific or desired result and may call for specific ingredients or a recipe. Spiritual bathing (preceded by regular washing of the body and hair) also consists of speaking, asking or commanding your needs into and over your water. Submerging your full body (head included) into your water and includes meditation. prayer, affirmations, breathing/visualization exercises, massage and other techniques for releasing that which no longer serves your Highest good. And is usually followed by anointing of the head and body and REST.
My bath water often contains everything from salts, clays, essential oils, and flowers to crystals, herbs, seeds, fruit, soil, ocean/river water, roots, champagne and even honey (Oshun). Even water that I’ve allowed to bathe in the light of the Sun or Moon. I have created herbal blends for you to be able to enjoy and receive the many benefits of bathing in the comfort of your own home. These blends are also perfect for ceremonial cleansing and bathing rituals, blessing a pregnant or new mommy, foot washing, head washing, steaming your sacred womb center. Cleansing/washing the deceased to anyone dealing with grief or the loss of a loved one. Even preparing yourself and your partner for the sacred art of lovemaking. I am grateful to be able to share this sacred, earth medicine and wisdom with you.
