Sacred. Ceremonial. Rite. Worship. Routine. Massage Therapy is Holistic healing. Holy. Meaning that it not only serves the body, but the mind and spirit as well. Massage Therapy along with other healing modalities should be held to one’s highest regard and considered a priority when it comes to your self care/love regimen. Love is the highest frequency. When considering or booking a Massage Therapy session with Sweet Serenity Pampering Co., receiving Ear Candling or purchasing any of our products, I would like you to ask yourself questions and be clear of your intentions. Is this for pain relief, relaxation, clarity? Do I need assistance in releasing trauma or grieving a loss of a loved one? Or do I simply want to experience the healing, transformative Powers of touch? These questions and others answers will assist you in receiving the desired outcome from your session(s). Here are a few things you can do prior to, following and or during your session.
Journal - Journaling helps you to express what your inner thoughts, needs and desires are. In my humble opinion, one of the best forms of communication is nonverbal communication and emanates from within oneself. Journaling is suggested prior to and or following a session. Feel free to share with me if you like.
Bathing – Water. One of the most powerful, healing, nourishing elements on this planet. Bathing is a lost art (ritual practice) that relaxes, cleanses, detoxifies and prepares the body and mind for the healing work that you are about to receive. As a Healer and Birth worker, I often prepare for clients or welcoming new life by way of ritual bathing. You can add herbs, salts, flowers, crystals, honey, etc. to compliment your bath as well as recite positive affirmations over yourself and into the water.
Breathing – Breath is Life. During your massage you will be in a deep relaxing, meditative state. Deep purposeful breathing not only releases stress and tension from the body, it also detoxifies and provides oxygen to your cells, muscles, blood and organs in and of the body. Use this time to do visualization exercises or to recite affirmations. Either verbal or nonverbal. Release. Let it Go! Breathe. Slowly inhale through your nose and slowly exhale through your mouth. Breathe. Breathe each breath as if it were your last breath.
Rest – Most people come to me for rest due to their hectic lives and busy schedules. Rest during your session. This is a time to lay your burdens down. Keep talking to a minimum. Rest following your session is vital as well. When you sleep/rest your body begins the process of healing and restoring itself. Whether returning to your bed, getting out in nature or any other place of tranquility, take the time to just BE. No television or cells phones. Take this perfect time to continue receiving the benefits of the aromatherapy and the work that your divine temple has just been blessed with. This is also a great time for personal reflection, counting your many blessings and preparing for the many blessings that are to come. Give Thanks!
